InSitu Goldfish Floats // Redding, CT

These floats were inspired from a detail of a Monet oil painting exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art. These elliptic forms are inspired from the basic shape of a goldfish or koi. An interiori spiral ("spirale") gives the transparent pieces interest while scale-like patterning alludes to the scales of a living fish. A range of colors were selected from vermilion to clear orange and sulfur yellow. The floats are tethered to weights and arranged in schools to animate the garden pool.
