Seibert Residence // Short Hills, NJ

This garden for Mara Seibert of Seibert & Rice Terracotta, was designed to be bold, simple and modern but complement the Arts and Crafts home. Large bands of shrubs, grasses and ferns offer year-round interest and are easy to maintain. Large-scale hand-made terracotta pots serve as focal points and give depth to the property. A historic perennial garden was converted into a shaded garden. The shade garden is planted with serpentine Boxwood hedges, thousands of Astilbe in pink, ivory & crimson and includes gravel paths that wind through the garden. PeeGee hydrangeas, clipped into simple topiary and potted, line the edge of the terrace and gives a foreground to the large expanse of lawn and gardens - this creates a stately effect.
