Verdant Vistas Award: Leach Botanical Garden

Celebrated for Community Impact and Design
Leach Botanical Garden received the Verdant Vistas Award from Monocle Magazine in 2023.

Designed by Land Morphology, the garden has become a defining cultural destination in Southeast Portland—an area historically underserved by public green space. Since its opening, the garden has welcomed over 40,000 visitors in its first year alone, with attendance doubling in subsequent seasons.

The project creates meaningful opportunities for visitors to connect with nature and engage with the layered history of the land. As both a regional and neighborhood resource, Leach Botanical Garden offers a restorative, inclusive experience for a culturally diverse audience.
