“This will be a truly transformative project in the growth and development of Yew Dell Botanical Gardens.”

—Dr. Paul Cappiello, Executive Director
Yew Dell Botanical Gardens

Land Morphology led the design of Castle Gardens, the first new garden spaces added to Yew Dell Botanical Gardens since it opened to the public. Once the private home and nursery of Kentucky plantsman Theodore Klein, Yew Dell has evolved into a celebrated public garden and cultural venue.

The Castle Gardens enhance visitor circulation, link historic features to the surrounding landscape, and introduce new opportunities for botanical display. A central water feature, stormwater gardens, and a series of shaded arbors create a welcoming, ecologically rich space for gathering and exploration. Developed in close collaboration with garden staff and board members, the design brings new life to the heart of the garden while honoring its horticultural legacy.
