George H. Weyerhaeuser Jr. Park // Tacoma, WA

Bridge View Park is a three-acre park designed for the Thea Foss Development Authority adjacent to and under the Cable Stay Bridge in Tacoma, Washington. Large sweeps of perennial plantings flower all spring, summer, and autumn. Richard Hartlage designed two large arbors of recycled timber reclaimed from a warehouse that previously existed along the waterway. Other features include restrooms, shoreline access, and a kayak launch. Bridge View park also has expansive lawns to host festivals and city-sponsored events.
