2021 Merit Award: Magnolia Modern Garden

Award-Winning Urban Garden Design
The Magnolia Modern Garden received a Merit Award from the Washington Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

With the home's main living spaces located on the second and third floors, designing for elevated sightlines was a key consideration. The landscape needed to be both visually compelling from above and highly functional at ground level—accommodating a pet-friendly yard and the reconfiguration of a bioretention system to manage stormwater on site.

The resulting garden is a dynamic, multi-layered composition that offers year-round beauty and utility, seamlessly experienced from both indoors and out.
